Eye opening interview with Cytovale's chief medical officer Robert Scoggins, MD, PhD on the prevalence of #sepsis. Despite its high mortality rate and financial impact on hospitals, there are no standard protocols in place to quickly - and objectively - diagnose and triage those patients that are potentially septic. Dr. Scoggins stresses the importance of continual training and having an active sepsis management program that’s supported by hospital administrators. #DarwinResearchGroup, #HealthCareRounds #sepsisawareness https://lnkd.in/epbwYeSH

This AORN Journal feature article focused on a study to evaluate the effectiveness of an evidence-based care bundle to prevent perioperative pressure injuries. In a single facility, using a preintervention and postintervention quasi-experimental design, the authors compared the pressure injury incidence rate for two patient groups (ie, before and after care bundle implementation). The study involved a total of 944 patients, and the incidence of pressure injury was lower in the postintervention group than in the preintervention group (1.6% versus 4.8%; P < .001). https://bit.ly/3Qw1TDM #OR #perioperative
