True story…. About a month ago, I left a high paying job to take the plunge with my brother into entrepreneurship! Here is what I have learned so far: 1. I don’t like being called a boss. I would rather my team refer to me as their partner. To many leaders think of themselves above others, and that they must be served by their ‘underlings.’ The truth is: you serve your people! 2. Great teams are not just built by finding the most talented people, but rather investing in the RIGHT people. I choose to work with people who are teachable and that want to do great things. True talent is a focus on effort and consistency spread out over a long period of time. 3. I want to transform the construction industry. I have had the priveledge of speaking with so many homeowners and business owners recently. The primary issues I hear are - unreliable contractors, long wait times, and a lack of accountability. My Town Construction is NOT perfect, but we are invested in getting better everyday! Our team is committed to getting better everyday. I am committed to getting better everyday. I am honored to serve this community and to bring visions into reality. It’s construction season in Michigan and we know that could inconvenience our patients as they make their way to important appointments at Sparrow offices in downtown Lansing. We’ve put together a quick guide for navigating the detours and cones so you can get where you need to go without too much hassle. US-127 is being worked on from Michigan Avenue to I-96 with closures at the Trowbridge Road ramps and westbound I-96 ramps. The work at the US-127 and I-96 intersection is scheduled to be completed in June 2024 and the Trowbridge intersection work is scheduled to be completed in December 2024. To avoid those issues, consider the following: • If you are coming from the north or south, Cedar Street and Pennsylvania Avenue are open. • If you are coming from the east or west, Michigan Avenue is open. Did you know MnDOT’s I-94 Gap project begins this summer? The Gap Project will expand I-94 to six lanes, three in each direction to close the gap between Albertville and Monticello. Prep work is anticipated to begin in July 2024, with construction taking place between Spring 2025 through Fall 2026, with wrap up anticipated in 2027. PUSHING THE ENVELOPE I would like to pile on the congratulations to the project team, but with a Building Science twist: Not only did they receive the 2024 MCA Choice Award, they also achieved a Whole Building Air Tightness test result of 0.015CFM50/SF!!! For a point of reference, the Phuis airtightness requirement is 0.060 CFM50/SF. - 285,000 square feet building footprint - 423,000 square feet exterior enclosure surface area If you want the equivalent value at 75pascals, the power law conversion would be 0.019CFM75/SF. If you’re stuck in your ways and want to turn this into a less sensible metric, the average building height of 34 feet would give you 0.04ACH50 Multipoint table and chart in the comments below.
