Erin Chapple (Bourke-Dunphy)’s Post

There is a lot of excitement in the Chapple household this time of year. We are all excited about the Stanley Cup finals, my son is counting the days until summer break, and personally—it's the start of conference season! A few weeks ago it was Microsoft Build and this week it was the inaugural installment the HPC+ AI Infrastructure Summit with AMD and Microsoft.     Across many conversations with attendees—who represented current and prospective Azure customers across industries—and sponsors, the notion of “purpose-built” came up frequently. As I reflected on why, I began to see this concept was something so much bigger than just a philosophy we operate against when building innovative, value-driven solutions; it’s a reflection of who we are as a company, and as individuals.     At its core, Microsoft’s rich history in HPC and AI, through to our evolution as a leader in this space today, all began with people. People with big ideas and visions for pushing the boundaries of innovation.     This came full circle for me as I had the privilege and honor of introducing Nidhi Chappell (She/Her) onstage as a keynote speaker and recognizing the impact of her incredible contributions and innovative ideas as she celebrated a momentous five years at Microsoft leading the Azure AI and HPC infrastructure product team to new heights. And again, during a fireside chat with Eric L., where I recounted a conversation I had with our host, Andrew Jones, many years prior about our bold future vision for Azure HPC.     Yes, as a company we design products that are "purpose-built" for the needs of customers’ most important applications, whether mission-critical like SAP and VMWare, HPC, or the cloud-native, AI workloads of the future. But we also design for organizations and cultures that are "purpose-built" so people can dream big. Because dreaming big is how we achieve big.    Finally, I think about how the notion of “purpose-built” extends to partnerships, like our partnership with AMD. This summit is an example—an intentional connection point designed to foster deep, inspiring, provocative conversations about what’s possible when we dream big.     Thank you to everyone who attended. I enjoyed meeting so many of you, and if we didn’t have a chance to connect, I hope we have an opportunity to do so in the near future to hear what your big dreams for the future are!     #Azure #Innovation #HPC #AI

This: it’s a reflection of who we are as a company, and as individuals.” Everyday the importance of this grows; it is at the core of our approach to work, customers wbd partners.

The inaugural event was inspiring and thought provoking. Looking forward to the new year and what we will accomplish with HPC+AI Infrastructure with our enterprise Healthcare customers.
