Euronet announced today the completion of the acquisition of the Malaysian Electronic Payment System (MEPS) ATM terminals of Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet), the national payments network and central financial infrastructure for Malaysia. This acquisition enhances Euronet’s role as the largest non-bank operator of ATM terminals in Malaysia. The integration of this nationwide network of about 800 ATM terminals into Euronet’s existing (IAD) network will benefit from Euronet’s industry-leading Ren payments platform. This expansion ensures secure, reliable 24/7 cash access for millions of customers across Malaysia. Euronet will maintain and expand the IAD network across Malaysia, promoting financial inclusion. Effective April 1, 2024, the MEPS ATMs have been fully transferred to Euronet. This acquisition is part of Euronet’s ATM Asset Acquisition Program, which has been successfully implemented worldwide and provides banks and operators like PayNet with strategic pathways for divestment of their ATM networks. The program enhances business continuity and expands customers’ reach and services. The HKMA and FSRA of the #ADGM have jointly announced the signing of an MoU on 22 November, focusing on strengthening their collaboration in fintech, specifically in cross-border trade-related data exchange and business collaboration. The partnership aims to enhance inclusive and innovative financial services by leveraging fintech and data in both markets. The MoU outlines plans for joint Proof-of-Concept projects, including connecting the HKMA's Commercial Data Interchange to the ADGM's SME Financing Platform. Additionally, the authorities will explore cross-border data exchange use cases with user consent to address challenges in services like SME account opening and financing for more efficient cross-border trading.

It's Annual Results day! 📈 MTN reported its set of annual results, covering our financial performance for the year ended 31 December 2023📝. Subsequently, for MoMo from MTN, we report the following salient points: > Active Mobile Money (MoMo) users are up by 5% to 72.5 million subscribers across our markets. > The momentum in volume and value of MoMo transactions remained strong and were up by 32.2% and 47.4%*, respectively. This underpinned strong advanced service revenue growth of 54.8%*. > The volume of #fintech transactions also increased by around a third to 17.6 billion, with the value of transactions across the fintech platform up at US$272 billion, driven by growth of advanced services in #payments, #banktech and #remittance solutions. > Agents and merchants grew by 5.4% and 42.5% to 1.3 million and 2.1 million respectively. > Another key highlight was concluding an agreement for payment network processor Mastercard to invest up to US$200 million for a minority stake in MTN Group Fintech at a valuation of US$5.2 billion. #AnnualResults #Fintech #MoMo
