I wonder also it sounds quite possible to utilize the same technology with some minor alterations to generate a CO2 energy source for the district cooling and district heating systems. This is a very rewarding twinging action towards the decarbonization endeavors for the integrated HVAC systems from one side in front of cutting the edge and disposal of non-environmental friendly refrigerants. Many other applications could be achieved through a demo researching projects before transformed and interpreted into the commercial scales.

Am I alone in wondering how they are achieving 75% round trip using gasses and turbines? Knowing a little about the subject I’d have supposed a 40% round trip efficency at maximum. I’ll be interested to see an independent calculation in due course.

Interesting tech. Some questions that come to mind for Energy Dome: This is designed as a closed loop energy storage system. Could this in addition to electricity storage also be a demand response solution when designed as an open system Integrated in a port and industrial cluster like Rotterdam where CO2 is pressurized for CCS via pipeline or liquified for CCS via ship? Is it also correct the system would be even cheaper when the dome is replaced by an underground salt cavern? Would this basically be CAES 2.0 with higher efficiency?

It could be a game changer, in large RE integration reducing huge transmission investment. All such LDES very interesting.

This is amazing, use,recycle and reuse and yet be in the carbon cycle.
