A few years back, I wrote about the intersection of gender, politics, and nationalism in my essay on the "Re-Patriarchisation of Female Bodies: Nationalism and Abortion Crisis in Poland." Against the backdrop of rising far-right politics and strict abortion laws introduced by the Law and Justice Party, I explored how nationalism constructs identities, marginalises minorities, and controls women's bodies. The analysis sought to shed light on the politicisation of family policies and the stigmatisation of non-heteronormative identities. With the outcomes of the recent parliamentary elections in Poland, there seems to be a buzz of optimism in the air! I am hopeful that in the nationalist logic, women's reproductive rights will no longer be jeopardized by populist claims and crushed under populist agendas. Time to amplify the muted voices, shake things up from the ground, rewrite narratives and dismantle age-old discourses. #GenderEquality #WomensRights #Elections #ReproductiveRights #PoliticalChange https://lnkd.in/efjuRNZ9
