I am beyond excited to share that I have joined Climate Salad as Chief Operating Officer working alongside incredible Founder and CEO Mick Liubinskas. Climate Salad runs a network of 540 climate tech companies and helps them with international expansion. Climate Salad’s purpose is to help Australia have an outsized impact on global climate problems. This really resonates with me because I am truly passionate about climate and have seen first-hand that Australia punches well above its weight when it comes to climate tech. This role enables me to have greater impact in this amazing ecosystem by supporting founders and early-stage climate tech companies through community, mentoring, accelerators, trade missions and investment. Investment in early-stage climate tech companies remains a major barrier to growth and success, so that will be a key area of focus for me personally. Multi-Crisis, Multi-Conference, Multi-solutions? London in Climate Action Week vibe. Discussions in groups as varied as the challenge at hand are taking place around the City. Not to forget the big #groundswell festival! Howden, A Chart Industries Company - the focus on climate and nature risk seemed surprisingly technical considering the decorative nature visuals on display. More rooted the discussion inspired by Peter Byck‘s film #rootssodeep around regenerative farming and the economic benefits entailed - next to a future-proof of business and personal satisfaction for farmers. As a refresher, I would have loved to exchange those farmers with the audience at the King‘s fund. Might have opened up the well rehearsed conversation on #voluntarycarbonmarkets. Although, the push for the protection of „standing forest“ by Tracy Johns from Meta is sending hopeful signs that we can agree to invest beyond the value chain. Helpful would be some #regulatoryincentive. No doubt. Very different again the crowd at #blueearthsummit where innovation and investment met to identify the opportunity in crisis. Thank you for the inspiring panel lead by Greg Robson enriched with data, anecdotes and perspectives by Ben Goldsmith and Danielle Mulder. It was a privilege to share the stage with you. Leaving London with too many conversations uncompleted, too few invitations to really act unspoken but hopeful. Maybe humanity does move. Eventually.
