I wonder if this would work well as an application in ammunition. Maybe if made of two different types of materials, the second coil could survive initial impact, and momentum could help carry it further into soft tissue, or at least help penatrate further into body armor plating, by acting as a drill. ๐Ÿค”

Complex matching geometries, minimal material, enhanced durability, reduced storage needs, and customizable components. However, it requires high precision (sub-millimeter tolerances) and careful material selection to maintain performance under various environmental conditions and usage. >> a strong trend in robotics and advanced manufacturing, leveraging innovation in design and production processes.

After a little digging, I've found a 3D printable model for this by Print Doc which was inspired by RJ Design. For those with a Bambu Labs printer, you may already know about this great resource! https://makerworld.com/en/models/516958#profileId-433193

This video motivates me to design a similarly complex geometry and build the two components using metal 3D printing. Undoubtedly an excellent idea. Congratulations #HENNtastic

Looks like the traditional Threaded Taper Screw Plug and Tapered Spindle that has been common. Almost 2,000 years ago, Hero described how large wooden screws were cut in Greece. Was demonstrated by Louis E. Bergeron (pseudonym for L.G. Salivet) in this detail from his Manual du Tourneur (Paris, 1792).
