It's shocking that despite care-experienced young people being significantly more likely to experience mental health problems, they don't have consistent access to quality bespoke services. This is why Drive Forward Foundation began working with Barnardo Counselling in 2019 and later with Power to Live Foundation. Since then, our counsellors delivered thousands of therapeutic hours, empowering care-experienced young people to overcome some of their biggest challenges and barriers. For many of them, this tailored mental health service has been pivotal in their progress in life and enabled them to pursue sustainable careers 👏 . **For the stats and evidence lovers:** According to a 2022 study by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, 38% of care-experienced young people aged 16-25 had a diagnosable mental health disorder, compared to 15% of their non-care-experienced peers. #careers #mentalhealth #counselling #careexperienced #cep #charity #youthemployment
