Genuinely cannot believe it has been 5 years since I started at The Distance! I know a common question is where do you see yourself in 5 years time? I think it is impossible to answer that question, because so much changes within 1 year, let alone 5! At The Distance, I have worked as a Project Manager, Account Manager and now Head of Partner Success. I have learnt a huge amount from everyone I have worked with, but particular shout-outs to: Anthony Main - some of what he says about stays lodged in my brain, and I find myself regurgitating knowledge, passing it off as my own of course! Louise Toal - The Distance - Listening to what I think are genius thoughts and then actually advising a better approach... Gemma Oliver - Creating the structure that makes the sales-to-project life so much easier and always someone I can bounce off. James Paton - Always asks a great question and has a different way of thinking, which again, I have shamelessly stolen to pass off as my own Plus of course, everyone else I have worked with whilst at The Distance, too many to mention, but I have learnt something from all of you! Finally, within the last year or so I have had the opportunity to work with Fiona Chorlton-Voong and Ryan Hall learning about Marketing and Sales outreach, which has been invaluable. I have really appreciated them answering my questions and keeping things simple! Here is to the next 5 years!

Not only are we celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2024, we're also celebrating team member Alex's 25 year work anniversary at Imperial. What an achievement! 🎉 We caught up with Alex to ask about her experiences in the Polythene industry and what's on her playlist! 🟩What are some of the most significant changes you've witnessed in the industry during your 25 years at IPP? Lots of changes over the years! Raw material costs have changed a great deal. The cost of British manufacturing has increased hugely. Polythene bags have become somewhat more technical than they ever were before. I've witnessed how Imperial have moved with the times over the past 25 years, innovating & adapting to the constant evolving requirements of the Polythene industry / market & the customers needs. 🟩You're a huge music fan! What 3 albums would you take with you if you were stuck on an island? Very tricky to answer that one! Dark Side of the Moon combined with Wish you were here - Pink Floyd, Different Class - Pulp & Rumours - Fleetwood Mac. These choices could change daily though as so difficult to choose just 3! The first text I sent yesterday was a happy anniversary to Ruth Badger and Lee Wrall as it marked 2 years since we sold Everything Tech. 🎉   Sitting here with a coffee, can't help but reminisce over the journey... In business, there's always that end goal in mind and a dream your chasing. Depending on the day it can feel close or a million miles away.   An emotional rollercoaster from feeling amazing to fear of will the years of work reward you or will it all be for nothing.   I used to love bringing people into the office for the first time. It let me share that feeling of warmth and pride I had for what we'd built together. There was a special buzz about it that I couldn't fully explain without being there, you had to feel it.   It was brutal endless work at times but we were surrounded by amazing hard working people who I can't thank enough. Ensuring thousands of people across the country had; rock solid, innovative IT and having fun while doing it.   Selling Everything Tech was one of them vivid moments in life I'll relive over and over. It's made me realise how important them moments in life are for me. Not just selling a business but getting out your comfort zone and doing something you're proud of. No idea what that will be next yet; maybe another fight, another business or maybe I'll get my hair back in Turkey. 👨🦲 🤣 🤷♂️ #peoplefirst #culture #businessowner
