Q. In a world full of AI-generated content and deep fakes, trust can be established through proof of identity or belonging, often relying on existing authorities like governments or big tech. Is it crucial for this solution to be open, permissionless, and censorship-resistant?
A. It's important to use a global platform that is not controlled by any single party to ensure equitable access by everyone in the world to identity and a reputation platform.
Q. Does crypto have a role to play in defining trust across the web and what should that look like?
A. Crypto enables trustless networks, creating incentives for decentralised communities to operate such networks and equal access. Data privacy is already a huge concern, and will only grow as such given the requirements for huge amounts of data to train Al.
Q. Can crypto help provide a solution to data privacy concerns in Al?
A. Web3 in general offers a different way to operate, where data lives on the user side and applications need to come to the user's device. It changes business models as there is no "accumulate data & it's out moat" approach and in turn requires crypto to create economics around this use cases. The industry is ripe for innovation and disruption.
🚀 That wraps up our insightful Q&A with Illia Polosukhin of NEAR Protocol, discussing the potential of Web3 & AI to reshape trust and privacy in our digital world. We're just scratching the surface of what's possible!
