So in an effort to make my situation a bit easier, I've opted to move up the efforts to move Austin, TX... and honestly, I'm excited. For the first time in a long while I'm actually excited. I've been on the job search for at least 10 months, until I decided to slow things down to re-evaluate strategies, and even then I've been keeping an eye out, and honestly, even if I just end up getting something part-time, I'm excited to go to Austin. I'm already looking into meetup groups for game development and computer science and music, looking at which awesome things I can bring with me to share with the folks down there. Its a huge change, and one I'm super grateful I'm able to make. Not everyone can afford to move where they are, especially so soon after college. I intend to make the most of it. I'll keep everyone posted as to when I will be going. In the meantime, hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. Get some rest, all! #jobsearch #techindustry #gamingindustry P.S. No, I didn't forget about my promise to show work. Things are taking a bit longer than expected due to all the rapidly shifting plans. Still working on that material system for my graphics engine, my first step is replacing using tinyobjloader with assimp, that's a decently sized overhaul on its own.

When I first met Zach, I thought he was just another software developer. Until I found out he wasn't. We were both working at Qualcomm. We had an internal employee portal for idea submission. Zach had submitted one idea. It wasn't just any idea → it was different. He had not only come up with a unique concept, but he had also prototyped it. This wasn't just a sketch or a rough draft. Zach had a physical prototype of his design. But that wasn't all. He had taken circuit boards and built the hardware himself. He didn't stop at the physical design, he had written software for it too. He had single-handedly traversed multiple domains, from industrial design to web design to physical hardware. → My mind was blown. I had never met a software engineer who could transcend so many fields. I remember thinking, "How can one person do all of this?" That's when I knew Zach was special. Fast forward a few years, we're now co-founders at Yembo. Zach's multi-domain expertise continues to amaze me and drive our success.

Here's Something amazing you probably don't know... Would you believe it, that the so mighty and tech genius known as Steve Jobs never wrote a single line of code? still baffles me how that guy handles a team of engineers, programmers and designers without the knowledge to code, but he was technical enough to alter, change and add to other designs. Yet Steve is routinely held up as the most visionary of tech visionaries. I believe what he knew how to do best was bring out the best in people who are the best at what they do, and that translated to the rise of one of the biggest and innovative brand of our time, Apple Inc. Maybe this is the cue for someone to know that what you do matters, you might not be in a job role that pays the most or has the greatest perks and reward, but become so good at whatever you do you can hardly be ignored. What's something new you've discovered this week that you think I should know, share with me in the comment section, I'll love to read them. #amazingfacts #digitalcommunications #apple #stevejobs #programming #code #begood

Design for Devs - 1 Building upon my last post, I know glassmorphism is making a comeback. Thanks to the Apple Vision pro Design System. And a trend I'm seeing these days is to give gradient borders to give that glass a shine from a specific direction. It's all fin and games once the devs start implementing it and find out that this is going to be a challenge. How to give a border gradient 1 - Use border image 2- Use two layers of divs with the first div having a bg color as the gradient Drawbacks to each technique 1- You can't use border radius with border image (yet) 2- You can't give opacity to the child div as the bg-gradient from the parent div will start overlapping So next time, keep this in mind before giving those shiny gradients to your glass cards. OR, lemme know if I've wasted my precious time writing this post. P.S: As I'm writing this down, I do feel like I should make a video instead. Would be easier to explain. Thoughts? #applevisionpro #glassmorphism #frontend #design

🚀 Get Hired by Apple! 🔥 (Here’s a secret that can help you. Think Like Them) Apple is known for its sleek, intuitive interfaces. Try recreating some of their iconic components yourself. It's a fantastic learning experience that pushes your design boundaries. Take it from me—I recently recreated the iconic MacOS Dock component from scratch. Why? Just for fun, out of pure curiosity and a desire to understand their design philosophy. By tackling projects like this, you not only develop valuable skills but also gain a deeper understanding of Apple's design language. Who knows, maybe one day your passion and dedication will catch their eye. But even if it doesn't, you'll still walk away with a sharpened skill set and a newfound appreciation for Apple's design process. Let me know in the comments what you think! 💬 Repost this tip for your network. Thank you! #GetHired #Apple #DesignThinking #UXDesign #CareerTips #TechInnovation #LinkedInLearning #GrowthMindset #ProductDesign #MacOS #Job
