There's a beautiful saying in Persian: "the more fruit a tree bears, the more it bows down its head" - a poignant reminder of the power of #humility! Hold onto that thought for a moment. 🙌 Those working with Capgemini in Europe must have heard of & about Eric de Quatrebarbes, our CEO for Europe Cluster! If not, it's time to tune in & get to know your leaders and colleagues, if you want to learn more, belong & grow. 🌟   Eric has a jam-packed schedule & despite that, he is well aware of the importance of connecting with people. Each season, he carves out 30 min sessions known as "straight talks", allowing everyone to have one-on-one conversations. The only trick is to be fast enough when you receive the invitation or the slots are booked within minutes! 😉 I wasn't fast enough!   A couple of months ago, my luck stroke & I saw him walking into our office in Brussels. Talk about right time, right place! #Boldness in my DNA (honed over years) - 2nd vale #Capgemini - pushed me to just blurt out "Eric?". That was met with what I think should be his trademark smile - a true testament to approachability 😊. Today I had an incredible opportunity to speak in the C&CA department meeting. I spoke about my highlights and the opportunities that I have embraced upon. As these last few months have been incredible from a warm reception by the team to hands on experience on client work, to getting involved in various volunteering in and outside of work and panel discussions . I have grasped every opportunity and have grown from each endeavor. It was great to share my graduate experience whilst being so new the company.   Key Takeaways: It’s about embracing all the opportunities that Capgemini has. Like developing a network, pushing yourself out of your comfort zone, putting yourself forward for team tasks, investigating new opportunities outside your everyday role.   Encouraging people: 1. Get involved. 2. Join networks like REN, Muslim Community + Women’s Network 3. Network with your business units and beyond 4. Say how you feel and understand others as everyone has a story. 5. Make an impact.

🎉 I am very happy to share that as of July 1st, 2024, I have officially advanced to the role of Principal Consultant / Delivery Architect Director at Capgemini! This milestone marks the end of a nearly year-long grading process that was as challenging as it was rewarding. The path to this achievement was anything but straightforward. It involved a series of leadership courses and industry certifications, expanding my internal network by securing sponsorships, and ultimately presenting my vision and plans to the board. To be honest, my pragmatic nature initially clashed with this extensive process. I couldn't help but feel that my performance already demonstrated my capability at the Principal Consultant level. The thought of jumping through these hoops felt like an unnecessary burden. However, in retrospect, I can confidently say that this journey has been transformative. Here’s what I gained from each step: 🏛️ Industry Certifications: These provided me with new knowledge and insights that I hadn't previously encountered. 💡 Thought Leadership Training & Connected Manager Program: Despite considering myself a thought leader, this program offered valuable new perspectives and techniques, allowing me to engage with colleagues at a much deeper level. 🥇 Sponsorship and Self-Reflection: Seeking sponsors and viewing myself through their eyes was both confronting and empowering. It reminded me of my accomplishments and helped me feel truly seen and acknowledged. Yesterday, when I received the official news of my successful grading, it felt incredibly rewarding. In hindsight, I am grateful that Capgemini required me to go through this rigorous process. It unearthed value and lessons that were not immediately apparent. Sometimes, being pushed to complete every step can lead to profound personal and professional growth. I am excited for what lies ahead and to bring these new insights and skills to my role. I remember interviewing Accounting and Finance candidates on a daily basis when I was in recruitment, a priority that would consistently come up when job searching would be "a good company culture". I was often surprised when it ranked higher on the list than compensation and salary increase (within reason, of course). As a graduate, in my first "proper" job I didn't realise how important it really was until a couple of years later joining Capgemini...
