Since graduation, I have not been able to secure a position that aligns with my goals. I knew it wouldn't be easy and was prepared to face any hardships. Now, after one years, the idea of landing in an MT program or a chemical engineering position no longer excites me as it once did. Below is the list of interviews I have attended since May, 2023. MT: Style Textile MT: Nippon Paint MTO: LCI MTO: Brighto Paint MTO: Ghani Ceramic MTO: Bestway GTE: Ingredion QC Executive: IPAK QC Engineer: Waresa Group Process Engineer: Velosi Process Engineer: Universal Coating Films Production Engineer: Combined Fabrics Production Engineer: Dynamic Packaging I would like to thank these firms for considering me. The above list doesn't include the positions for which I applied more than twice, followed by an assessment, where applicable. It also doesn't include the number of times I have taken tests through different platforms. This does make you feel pathetic. Now, I have stopped expecting and predicting outcomes, regardless of how well my assessments or interviews go. Dear folks, not everyone's story are meant to be successful. Each step in your life is a test and you are supposed to learn from it. The experiences are either negative or positive. The important thing is how you apply them for valuable growth. This post is not to discourage anyone. I have seen people getting jobs in renowned industries right after graduation. You might think, I am writing out of depression or something. But actually, I'm neither depressed nor at peace; it's hope that keeps me going.Alhumdulillah! This sense of being hopeful is by the will of Allah. I believe that there is: SOMETHING WRITTEN FOR ME TOO and IT WILL BE WORTH IT.

They devise efficient systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, information, and energy to make a product or provide a service.

I agree and also appreciate the breakdown of growth that you posted, it was very insightful. However, I do have a couple of questions. First, during the 3 to 5 years of combining technical and management skills, should one be content and focus solely on the skill set acquired within the discipline? Second, what is your opinion if someone decides to explore skills outside of their current discipline?
