Sustainable Capture: Paving the Way Towards Net Zero with CCUS Hubs The UAE's commendable efforts towards achieving net-zero emissions are exemplified by projects like 𝐀𝐃𝐍𝐎𝐂'𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐔𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 (𝐂𝐂𝐔𝐒) initiative, led by Musabbeh Al Kaabi, Executive Director of Low Carbon Solutions. The project aims to capture 5 MtCO2/year from its natural gas processing plants by 2030. However, despite its potential, CCUS encounters 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 that pose significant hurdles to widespread adoption.
