Have you heard (or used the term) “The Math Ain’t Mathin’…”? Well, lately Life is Lifein’ (sp?)… TLBC Inc. / Cannabis Compliant Security Solutions onboarded our 35th+ employee last month! When I left #lawenforcement to start this venture I was hoping to create a job for myself. But one of my bucket list items that I thought would be so neat, was to give somebody a job. We’ve done that over 35 times as of last month and are quickly approaching 50+. One of the most rewarding experiences is when one of our teammates recommends a family member or close friend to work with us. It’s a similar feeling when a client organically recommends us to their friends and colleagues. My main lessons learned: Stay in you lane. I don’t know the #hr #humanresources world as an expert. I know enough to know outsource this to the pros. HR is pivotal to our employees success and the more we can support and stay out of our own way, the better. Listen. Folks want to be heard and valued. Not the appearance of valued, actually valued. The amount I learn from the experiences of our Teammates is incredible. They help us avoid landmines. Take ownership. I (we) make mistakes. Own it, acknowledge it, learn from it and get better. Then move on with lessons learned. We reserve the right to get smarter. That’s the short list, I could rift for hours on lessons learned. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to orbit with folks who have taken time out of their day to teach and mentor me and my Team.
