External thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) are an excellent solution for improving the energy efficiency of both new and existing buildings. But do the energy savings of ETICS make up for the energy consumed during their construction and disposal? A recent lifecycle analysis carried out by the German ifeu institute gives the all-clear: it shows that the energy payback of ETICS is usually reached after a maximum of 2 years after application. #TeamWallSystem #etics #vinnapas #construction

Demand Response (DR), in #electricity, refers to balancing the demand on power grids by encouraging customers to shift electricity demand to different times of a day [ref: #IEA]. Implementing price-based energy management programs to change the consumption pattern of residential consumers has become an indispensable solution to the operational challenges of smart distribution power systems. If you are working on a similar project, you may want to take a look at the recent paper "Reliability-Based Design of Time-Varying Electricity Tariff" , written by Mohammad Rastegar and me. We presented this work in "2023 31st International Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEE)", and I am happy to share that it is now available on #IEEE 😊 https://lnkd.in/eS4hyUEi We used historical #data of failures of different components of the system to design a reliability-aware time-varying electricity tariff.
