Habari gain? Ujamaa. Translation: What's the news? Cooperative economics. If you have been following my page, you know I advocate supporting Black-owned businesses. However, aside from shopping online, it is paramount that we support the small, Black-owned businesses in our communities. The yoga studio, neighborhood grocery store, vegan restaurant (you need this in your life), a law office, or whatever else it may be. Those storefronts will not make it without our patronage. Be mindful when you walk past a Black-owned business to stop in and support, even if it's a small purchase. It matters. Buy a gift card for someone else. Refer a friend to the neighborhood lawyer or doctor. Keep our Black dollars circulating in our own community so we can build the community we want to live in.
