More pets are lost on July 4th than on any other day of the year. In preparation for the day, Petco Love is strongly encouraging individuals to register their cats and dogs on Love Lost: https://ow.ly/n7iF50Su2Ie, Petco Love’s national database for lost and found pets. https://ow.ly/1eRr50Su2y1

Providing legal advice to busy people outside office hours so you don't have to take time off: 8AM to 8PM
Are you thinking about getting a puppy for Christmas? Remember to include them in your will. So many pet owners assume their furry friends will be taken care of when they die. You are right to think about what would happen to them if you weren't here. Your pets need to be included in your will for the following reasons: 🐶 They are not placed into a shelter. 🐶 They are not adopted by someone who won't care for them properly. 🐶 They are loved and adored by someone you know and trust. It's important you name a guardian for your pets so they don't end up in a shelter or in the wrong hands. We suggest you take the following steps: ❤️ Choose someone who loves animals. 💬 Have the conversation with them before you write or amend your will. 🤗 If they don't have pets themselves, let them know what's involved in taking care of them. ✅ Ask for their agreement to being a named guardian before you include them in your will. If you're thinking about getting a puppy or other pet for your children for Christmas, start thinking about who will look after them if you're no longer around. #petlovers #petwills #wills #fourleggedfriend #lancashire #willsandtrusts #linkedin #linkedinmarketing

What does National Pitbull Awareness Day mean to you? For me, it’s a day and even a whole month to recognize a breed that is so misunderstood and discriminated against. Society blames the breed rather than the humans that are exploiting, overbreeding, and mistreating this breed. The pitbull and other bully breeds need to have more responsible dog parents (all breeds do but especially these pups). BSL needs to be abolished everywhere and focus more on the humans behind the leash. Oh yea, leash your dogs too. 😁 You don’t need to have a pitbull to help educate yourself or others. Here’s some ways to help showcase how pawsome this breed is: 1. Educate yourself by learning more about pitbulls. You can do this by getting involved with your community at local animal shelters, dog rescues, and public dog events. 2. Don’t fall trap to the media and people who portray pitbulls as baby killers, inherently dangerous, or a breed who deserves to die just because of their breed. 3. Be a responsible dog parent especially if you have a pitbull. They already have a target on them so there’s no need to further perpetuate the negative stigma. Leash your dog. Train your dog. Advocate for your dog always. 4. Do NOT say “It’s all in how you raise them!” There are so many pitbulls who come from very traumatic experiences who are able to be rehabilitated and/or who aren’t aggressive. This statement insinuates that dogs from traumatic backgrounds are broken, dangerous, and aren’t worthy of a having a loving home. I want to give a special shoutout to Philly Bully Team even though they aren’t local to Omaha, NE. Their focus is on pitbulls and bully breeds and have saved so many dogs from heartbreaking situations. They do a great job with educational posts, being transparent (which a lot of rescues/shelters don’t do), and they do so much for the dogs they rescue. Not every dog can be saved or rehabilitated but death should never be the default just because of a dog’s breed. Pass it on. 💜 #nationalpitbullawarenessday #pitbulls #showmeyourpitties #dontbullythebreed

For Lost Dog Awareness Day, we're offering tips on how to successfully find your beloved pet should they ever go missing. 🐶😺 📢 Alert neighbors & community: Use your HOA/COA social media groups and message boards. The more eyes looking, the better. Post clear photos and a detailed description of your pet on local lost pet pages on platforms like Facebook and Nextdoor. 🔎 Check local shelters: Contact local animal shelters and rescue groups immediately. Visit them if possible, as you may recognize your pet more easily than others. ⚠️ Report to local authorities: Inform animal control services in your area. They can keep an eye out and help spread the word. 📜 Hang flyers: Distribute flyers within the community and at key local spots. Make sure they're eye-catching and include your contact information and a picture of your pet. Flyers don't need to be fancy - simply make them on a Word Doc and print plenty of copies. 🚗 Check regularly: Sometimes pets return on their own. Keep driving around your local area, checking your surroundings, and asking neighbors to do the same. ☑️ Update microchip information: If your pet is microchipped, contact the microchip company to update your pet as missing and ensure your contact details are current. Hopefully, you won't have to use these tips, but please take note of them as a precaution. Remember, the best way to prevent pets from getting lost is to always use a leash and harness when walking them, ensure your fence is secure, keep their microchip info updated, and keep them inside during high-risk times like 4th of July fireworks and Halloween. #FirstServeOthers #LifeSimplified #LostDogAwarenessDay

Did you know most lost pets are picked up less than a mile from their homes? When kept in the neighborhood where they are found, these animals have a 70% reclaim rate. However, when they are brought to a shelter, the typical reclaim rate is only 17%. With space tight in shelters across the region, and fireworks displays around the corner, we are joining with San Luis Obispo County Division of Animal Services and asking for the community’s help this holiday. Save space in the shelter by protecting your pets from getting loose, making sure they are microchipped and wearing ID, and taking these steps to reunify any found pets with their owners before bringing them to the county shelter: 1. LOOK LOCALLY - Leash and walk the lost pet around the neighborhood to see if anyone knows where they live. 2. SNAP AND SHARE - Take a picture of the animal and post it on social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, @petcolovelost Lost.PetcoLove.org, and Craigslist.com. 3. CHECK THE CHIP - Bring the animal to a vet or animal shelter to scan for a microchip. 4. FILE AS ‘FOUND’ - Complete a Found Animal Report on the @SLOCountyAnimalServices website at https://lnkd.in/gUgA7xgW 5. HOLD AT HOME - If possible, hold on to and care for the animal for a few days to increase the likelihood that the pet will be reclaimed. Read more at https://lnkd.in/gJG-c2ED

Let’s help by every means necessary
📍📍📍 Dallas, TX 📍📍📍 💔💔💔 SNOWEE #A1213487 💔💔💔 He was an owner surrender and had some dog scuffle wounds. Sweet, wagging, friendly, knows sit, eager for love. And here is SNOWEE, suffering the consequences. Of an owner who declined responsibility for him. Of a city stretched so thin with animal support resources he is suffering tonight in a shelter kennel, alone. The shelter is at 147% capacity. The ventilation and facility is shit. The dogs get sick, easily, when it is so (always) over capacity + stress + an old facility not made for this. Our city council just proposed $0 for the Dallas Animal Services facility in the recenty-voted in $1.25 BILLION Bond. That is on us, the citizens - we did not assemble and speak up. How to change the story? • SNOWEE needs out… if you are a rescue with funds and a foster to help him, send in a tag TONIGHT. If you are a local dog lover with disposable income and want to adopt, send in an inquiry TONIGHT. Either one - show up at the shelter when they open their doors tomorrow and carry this guy outta there and to an emergency vet. DO NOT GET SNOWEE IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RESOURCES TO TRULY PROVIDE FOR HIM. • DALLAS CITIZENS… get up to speed. We are in a dog and cat overpopulation crisis. Learn, connect with your city council person on this, participate. This does not have to be our, or Snowee’s, story. 📍DALLAS ANIMAL SERVICES. Please go get him. We need dogs far more than most of us realize, but they also depend on us for their survival and well-being. As you reflect on the insights shared in this article, consider whether having a dog could benefit you. If you have space in your home, think about taking in a dog. Be sure to check with your local animal shelters or connect with individuals or groups that rescue abandoned dogs. Relying on breeders or purchasing puppy mill dogs found in pet stores only contributes to the ongoing suffering of dogs worldwide. If you already have a dog, remember that dogs can get lonely, especially if you're away for much of the day. Consider adopting an additional dog that is compatible with your current pet. This not only provides your dog with a companion, but also gives another dog a chance at a loving home. By choosing adoption over buying, you can make a significant difference in reducing the burden on shelters and help curb the cycle of pet overpopulation. You may also be saving a dog's life!

It's National Dog Day! A day to celebrate our furry family members and recognize the unconditional love they bring us. But when it comes to estate planning, have you considered how your dog will be cared for? Estate planning is an essential step for all pet owners in order to ensure their pets are taken care of should something happen to them. Without proper planning, pets may be left without a guardian or placed in an animal shelter where they may not receive the love and care they deserve. To avoid this unpleasant situation, you can create a legal document that names a trusted individual as your pet's caregiver if something should ever happen to you. #srlawgroup #srlaw #lawoffice #blackownedlawfirm #elderlaw #blackowned #georgia #womanowned #estateplanning #supportblackownedbusinesses #estateplanningattorney #estateplanninglawyers #douglasvillega #lastwillandtestament #nationaldogday #longtermcare #adoptions #vaimprovedpension #guardianship #conservatorship #medicaidplanning
