Thanks to a unique collaboration between the private and public sectors, a project to support the preservation of Ukrainian printed cultural heritage was created. Culture, in its capacity to carry the identity of a nation, has been targeted in the context of an ongoing war. The innovative mobile preservation and digitisation field-workplaces, Ark 1 and 2, will provide assistance in preserving Ukraine's printed cultural heritage thanks to the excellent skills of the National Library of the Czech Republic. April 25, 1974, marks a pivotal moment in Portuguese history, signifying the Revolução dos Cravos (Carnation Revolution)—a peaceful military coup that ended nearly five decades of dictatorship under the Estado Novo regime. This momentous event brought about profound political, social, and cultural transformations in Portugal. The revolution paved the way for democracy, freedom of expression, and human rights, laying the foundation for modern Portugal as we know it today. Today, marking the 50th anniversary of this historic event, as an immigrant, Portugal remains deeply rooted in my heart. The ideals of freedom and democracy from the Carnation Revolution inspire me, emphasizing the importance of cherishing cultural heritage and values, wherever life leads. Congratulations to CeFEO member Francesco Chirico, PhD and his co-authors Sihong Wu, Di Fan, Jiayan Ding and Yiyi Su, who recently published their article “Foreign market exit in family firms: Do historical military and cultural frictions matter?” in Journal of World Business (ABS 4) In a fast-changing world, strategic decisions to exit a foreign market become more complex for family firms, owing to their vulnerability to uncertainty in internationalization. However, there is scant research on family firms’ foreign market exit with respect to their responses to contextual influences from home and host countries.
