Today we announced a bunch of new features and a brand new product (!) at #Config2024 that nod to the future we’re building at Figma where anyone can go from an idea in their head to a well-crafted product. For this to be possible, we need a few things. An easier process for anyone to get from an idea to a design and from design to code. Faster ways to communicate ideas so everyone can get on the same page and stay on the same page. No more time-consuming, manual tasks that slow down exploration and execution. And this is exactly what our Config launches set us up to do: → With Figma AI, designers can focus on the more strategic work because time-consuming tasks like creating placeholder content or wiring up prototypes feeling are now automated. Also, say goodbye to the blank page! → With improvements to Dev Mode like new workflows for developers and Code Connect, design and development have never felt closer together. → With Figma Slides, designers and their teams have new tools to build the most compelling presentations. There’s a lot of magic in this one — live prototypes on slides, editable mocks, live voting… This one will be a game changer for product reviews. This is just a snapshot of what we announced today at #Config2024. We’ll be rolling some out today, and some over the coming weeks and months. As you try them out I’d love to hear your feedback! https://lnkd.in/g9c6uyE7

Mindblown 🤯 all the good stuff, all at once! ✨️ As designers in software product development.. we live in good times with visionaries like Figma Yuhki Yamashita some AI use cases that we'd love to have: 1) "Summarise" or extract new design patterns from/across project files into new Master Components - this will help audit new designs for standardisation 2) Re-link detached instances, or if change is large, suggest to generate a new variant into the source Master Component-set 3) By visual similarity, replace layers into instances from existing Master Components +Young Sing Er

It’s frustrating that you all keep saying “where anyone can” when most people should not, ever, take a new idea straight to a clickable prototype.

Yay, more new garbage tertiary products while the core features and new features users have requested get the shaft.

Looks amazing! Regarding Figma AI: I understand that some designers are afraid of this feature (that was also my first reaction), but as Felix Brodbeck said: a calculator doesn’t make you a mathematician. An improved tool speeds up the process and reduces the tedious tasks. The operators (designers) of the tool stay (at least, the better ones). It reminds me of the job of the elevator boys who had to push buttons all day. Having modern elevators made life easier. Should we keep using the old elevators only to have this kind of jobs? Great designers will not be unemployed in the near future. (I hope. 😀) Personally, I came to the conclusion: if AI takes all the work (which I doubt): it will not only hit me. Society and the system would have to change.

You guys know us so well 🥰. I can't wait for Figma to provide a more advanced prototyping capacity so we don't have to use After Effects anymore, haha. (Definitely willing to pay extra for that)

Mind blown! Figma's new features are a game-changer! AI, Dev Mode, and Figma Slides are going to revolutionize how we design and collaborate. Can't wait to see how these tools supercharge creativity and productivity. The future of design is here! 🚀

Figma Slides seems like a brilliant direction. I can imagine designers working internally for companies, organizations, and schools creating style guides and template decks. The interactivity has always been great with Figma. One request: Please add positioning capabilities (X, Y, Width and Height). I want to know where exactly an element is on the slide. Right now, I'm editing text on a second slide and this changes the height of the text and its position. I have tried every alignment and it still keeps moving the position as I edit the text.
