The end of the school year and Memorial Day signals the unofficial “start” of summer. For many students and parents alike, this means finding the quintessential summer job. For employers, it means young people applying for work hoping to earn some extra cash. Here’s a quick refresher for employers to ensure compliance with Arizona and federal law. Please note that these rules apply only where there is an employer/employee relationship – and do not limit what parents can assign as chores. In the last few years I’ve noticed a large increase in “no shows” or at work. People just deciding with no phone call or communication to either throw in the towel or take the day off. Quietly quitting is a new term for when people just stop working at eventually the employer will figure it out. Personally I could never do this; I think my dad would disown me and my grandma might throw her slipper at me if I treated my job so poorly…. But it is something that business owners/managers have to deal with and try to understand. It’s not limited to a certain age bracket but the frequency is definitely increasing. Why do you think it is? It’s not just construction as an industry either. Is it more choices in the workplace? There’s things that can be done to combat it also. A good vetting process of new employees/ good communication with team leads/ tight employment contract… but all of them mean nothing if they aren’t interested anymore/think that behaviour is ok. ** little video of doing the trucking at Greensborough level crossing a year ago. Approx 60 thousand ton moved in a month in and out of the rail corridor.

There are many things behind an employee's mind to stick on to that low paid job! May be it's not always the workplace, behind the scenes there can be family, or the passion for their work. Whatever may be the reason, every employee toils hard every day maintaining consistency for their work, assuring the higher management from their end showing effective productivity while handling all mental pressure within! I have always been honest employee when it comes to my work, but company has never valued it. Hence, in this way, people like us turns out to be the opposites in longer run! P.S: I have worked the whole day, completed my duty more than my official work hours, have taken all the classes, with having all the proves raised my concern, still my attendance was not captured due to fault in biometric registration, and hence, I'm not considered as on duty or present on that particular day!... And, a big edtech company doesn't have power to correct the attendance from backend for genuine cases! But for sales people, everything is possible! Today, it really makes me think, where I'm working? What are your views?

Furlough Day 22: Have Fun Many of us will spend half our life working. One way to continue to enjoy the work that we do is to have fun doing it. Joking with coworkers and customers can bring levity, and often a well-needed, switch up. For fun, I was thinking about the job title that I can use to describe my responsibilities during furlough on a resume. I would love input on a title for all of you based upon the following descriptions: -Planned and prioritized facility and grounds maintenance including coordinating vendors and resources -Transformed domicile into a safer space by eliminating rodent infestation from facility -Managed fleet of 2 vehicles including maintenance and safe operation -Managed finances and credit, including accounts receivable and payable -Directed audio and visuals entertainment in response to request of patrons for maximum enjoyment. -Planned entertainment and coordinated transportion to and from venues -Coordinated meetings with healthcare providers for both human and non-humans including transportation and prescription management So... Chief Operating Officer? General Manager? Please share some other titles that I should use.

We're starting to look back at results for the 23-24' school. Here's data for the volume of subs working by day of the week. Friday requires 21% more subs compared to Monday. A few takeaways: > When possible, post Friday sub requests well in advance (HelloSubs fills nearly 100% of jobs posted 24+ hours in advance) > If your teachers need a long weekend, see if some can take off Monday instead of Friday 😎 > Pay bumps and incentives for Fridays do help > Onboard subs with limited availability, if they can do occasional Fridays > In some cases it makes sense to just schedule an extra sub or two for every Friday, in most cases you'll need them
