Today we release our next boxed wine: the 2023 Patelin de Tablas Blanc. It’s been an amazing ride each time we’ve had a box release. Far from people being resistant to the package, we see incredible enthusiasm for this customer-friendly, low-carbon package. Case in point: in the hour since we sent news of the release to our wine club, we’ve already gotten 70 orders and sold 25% of our total production. The disconnect between what we see when we reach out to our customers and what we hear from our wholesalers has never been greater. In the slightly-more-than-24-hours since we announced the release of our newest box wine via email to our mailing list, we've sold more than 500 boxes, or 80% of what we allocated for direct sale. At the same time, in the first two months where we released some boxes into wholesale, our California distributor, who does a great job for us, sold only 10 total cases (60 boxes) to the thousands of accounts they service, and no more than 1 case to any single account. There's clearly demand out there. The question is, why isn't it being served?

Back in the day (we're talking the 1930s), beer was primarily served in glass bottles. But then, along came a game-changer: the beer can! In 1935, the American Can Company and Gottfried Krueger Brewing Co. teamed up to create the first-ever beer can. These beauties were made of heavy-gauge steel and were marketed as “Krueger’s Finest Beer.” Imagine trying to shotgun one of those! The innovation didn't stop there. By the 1960s, cans got a facelift with aluminum, making them lighter and more user-friendly. Fast forward to the late 1970s, and we got the beloved pop-top can, thanks to Ermal Fraze. No more fiddling with can openers – just a satisfying *click* and you're good to go. Today, beer cans are a staple in the beverage world. They’re eco-friendly, portable, and perfect for preserving that crisp, refreshing taste we all love. Plus, they come in all sorts of cool designs – talk about a win-win!
