Congratulations to AOV Champion FD Boilermaker Steve Jarvis (right), pictured with FD HSE Mo Noaman (left). Steve diligently observed his surroundings while working in the crude plant's Area One. His keen eye spotted a potential tripping hazard—a pipe protruding about an inch from the ground in a bustling section. Recognizing the importance of safety, Steve swiftly retrieved a can of paint from the tool crib to enhance the visibility of the hazard and reduce the risk for pedestrians. Steve's commitment to maintaining a secure work environment did not go unnoticed. His proactive approach and conscientious effort were acknowledged, underscoring his dedication to making his workplace, his second home, a safer place for everyone. We extend our sincere appreciation to Steve for his unwavering commitment and hard work, as it continues to be a shining example for others. Thank you, Steve, for your ongoing contributions to a safer and more secure work environment! #SafetyFirst #WorkplaceSafety #ProactiveSafety #TeamPlayer #EmployeeRecognition #Dedication #Commitment #SafetyAwareness #Leadership #HardWorkPaysOff #Gratitude #ThankYouSteve #SecureWorkEnvironment #SafetyCulture #EmployeeAppreciation

Working at heights comes with specific requirements to ensure safety. Here are some key aspects to consider: Before any work at height, conduct a thorough risk assessment to identify hazards and determine appropriate control measures. Workers must receive proper training in working at heights, including how to use equipment safely and how to respond to emergencies. Use appropriate equipment such as harnesses, lanyards, and anchorage points that comply with relevant safety standards. Regularly inspect all equipment used for working at heights to ensure it is in good condition and safe to use. Avoid working at heights in adverse weather conditions such as high winds, rain, or snow. Follow safe work practices for climbing, descending, and moving on elevated surfaces, including maintaining three points of contact and using fall protection where necessary. Ensure clear communication among workers involved in work at heights to coordinate activities and respond to emergencies effectively. Have a plan in place for responding to emergencies, including rescue procedures for workers who may become suspended in fall arrest equipment. By following these requirements, you can help ensure the safety of workers who are working at heights.
Working at heights requires heightened awareness and adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents. Always inspect equipment before use, wear appropriate safety gear like harnesses and helmets, secure tools and materials, never work in adverse weather conditions, and follow proper procedures for climbing, descending, and moving on elevated surfaces. Regular training and communication among team members are essential to ensure a safe work environment. #JetContractors #HSE #TBT #JESA

Celebrating 1000 Days without LTI´s This is a fantastic milestone, and we can only be happy and proud, that no one at your terminal got injured. However, this only obligate us to strive for 2.000 and so forth. Health and Safety needs to be a state of mind, a deeply imbedded culture. Procedures and info-bords are far from enough. Remember “Culture eats procedures for breakfast.” We are all HSE managers along with our other roles. I love the quote from Top Gun, said by Viper. “Top Gun rules (I hear, OTC´s 6 lifesaving rules and 8 safety principles) exist for your safety and that of your team. They are not flexible nor am I. Either obey them ore you are history … ‘Is that clear?) It sounds cool, but it is not. Threats and harsh language are not the solution. Honesty, understanding, listening and dialog are some of the important tools in creating a Health and Safety culture that is deeply embedded in everyone. Trust is important when you want to create a culture where it is ok and safe to speak up when safety is at risk. Proud to be part of Oiltanking and One Mabanaft where Safety embedded in all our DNA. #HSSE #Oiltanking #Mabanaft #onemabanaft #0LTI #HSE #healthandsafety
