besides the continuous improvement re-enforcement this was a nice flashback of the M. Schumacher era and how races were decided by pit stop and tire strategy 👍

Road America - Pirelli GT4 America 2023 A truly mixed weekend for me - Red flags, Cautions and ultimately a DNF after contact in Race 2. We started the weekend where the team left off in IMSA GS a few weeks ago, where they had also visited Road America and its tricky new track surface. One highly influential difference between that weekend and this, is the tyre. From a stiff sidewalled Michelin tyre for IMSA, which somewhat suits the Vantage GT4 and its spring set. To a Softer, more inert Pirelli tyre. The biggest challenge, was to get the tyre up to temperature and pressure before loosing the peak of grip. Something that did take time to understand and achieve. A much stiffer chassis was required to make the tyre work, especially at the front where aggressive geometry was implemented to ensure sustained tyre temperature. We qualified mid pack for both races and came through to P4 in class in Race one. A well deserved result for the team! Race two saw the car grind to a smokey halt in the box after contact with a competitor damaged the differential. Not ideal! But that’s racing… Overall, a great deal has been learnt and this is all information and experience that the team can take into the next IMSA race at Virginia International Raceway.

Attending the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix last weekend was an electrifying experience, made even more special by witnessing Lando Norris claim his first victory! Reflecting on his journey after the race, I couldn't help but appreciate the sheer dedication and perseverance he exemplifies. While racing amongst the best drivers in the world is a life achievement in itself, Norris endured 110 Grand Prixs racing at over 150mph without "success" measured in a 1st place podium. In a world where patience is often in short supply, and self-criticism is all too common, Norris's journey serves as a reminder of the power of perseverance and taking life one step at a time. He didn't rush his "success"; instead, he diligently worked for 5 years at the highest level toward his dreams, overcoming each obstacle along the way. Resilience. It is a reminder to us all that greatness is not achieved overnight but through persistent effort and unwavering belief in oneself. Here's to Lando Norris - a shining example of what can be accomplished when passion meets perseverance.

The Checkered Flag reminds us that humans have a fondness for competing and a desire for winning. Today is the seventh and final day of the flag series. Today is the day we discover whether the preceding week has been lived in such a manner that we will accomplish our mission today. While it looks as though the race starts at the track with the wave of the green flag, those that compete know that the race begins long before that symbolic beginning. The race itself is the ultimate proof of how well one has prepared during the days, weeks, months and even years prior to it. A big race is often the culmination of a lifetime of preparation. The strategy of the race is a continuation of the strategy we apply to the living of each moment up to the event itself. If we are well practiced in the attending to the details, if we are a slave to the victory we seek and if we are obedient to the constant demands of excellence, we may win the day. Yes, there are other factors, yet even those are influenced by how passionately, persistently and single-mindedly we prepared for the day. A wise man said, "To finish first, you must first finish," and it is known that to finish you must begin. Today, give it your absolute best. Celebrate the victories small and large that you witness and achieve. Most importantly be willing to look deeper within to see where there is more in you, and then commit to giving it to something far bigger yourself. #racing #speed #life #competition #endurance #victory #racecar #flag #formula1 #indy #nascar #rally #sportscar #motocross #motogp #drift #winning #offroad #offroading #coach #motorsport #motivated #champion #championship #indycar #winner #business #executivecoach
