The Merchant for Food52 will support a comprehensive merchandising and planning strategy that helps deliver the Food52 Shop vision, sales, revenue and margin goals. This person supports the Merchandising department through a series of cross-functional tasks to bring commercially viable and distinctly Food52 products to market. The breadth of these tasks go from concept to launch to product storytelling on-site and via a slew of marketing campaigns. Mid-Week Meet: Jenna Durante - Account Manager, Food52 What do you do here? I am an Account Manager on the Brand Partnerships team and work on all pre sales media plans and brand strategy. We come up with great brand opportunities and storytelling between Food52 and various clients in which some of our recent partners include the UK Government, Planet Oat and BelGioioso. How long have you worked here? I have been at Food52 since October 2023 so almost 1 year. What is your favorite item in your home? I would have to say my favorite item is this painting my roommate, Niki, thrifted for me last year. It’s a portrait of this white, fluffy cat posing properly and is the cutest thing hanging on my wall. A little something that brings me joy every day. Tell us about a time when you turned lemons into lemonade. My flight back to New York got delayed and canceled about 10 different times, so I was stuck in Montreal for three extra days. After the 10th cancellation and two nights at the airport hotel, I decided to trek back into the city and go to my favorite restaurant from the trip. I ended up meeting some great people and saw new parts of the city I never would have if the flights weren’t canceled! What are you currently working on? I am currently working on our holiday programs with the focus on entertaining at home, making the most of the holiday season and bringing people together! What is one thing we could do better? We’ve made a lot of progress by collaborating together and seeing positive outcomes from that, so I would say ensuring we don’t regress back to a siloed environment. What is your favorite product? My favorite product would be my recent purchase of the Le Creuset stoneware oval fish baker because it's such a fun shape and I’m obsessed with the sea salt color I got. You can really make anything in it, so I use it all the time! I recently made an aglio olio seasoned salmon with green beans in it which came out great!
