However, post-Brexit, the EU does not count any extra months added beyond the initial 10-year validity of your passport. Here’s a quick example for clarity: If your passport was issued in January 2015 and is marked to expire in June 2025, it effectively expires in January 2025 for EU travel. This is because the EU does not recognise any months beyond the standard 10-year period. This could mean that with this passport, you wouldn’t be able to travel to some European destinations after January 2025.
