The people who make our technology make our world, and that has never been more true than in the world of AI. Diversity in AI is our first line of defense against biased, unethical, and unfair systems. That’s why I am joining as a Mentor for the Break Through Tech AI Program. Hosted by the MIT Schwarzman College of Computing in collaboration with Break Through Tech — a national initiative launched by Cornell Tech in 2016 to increase the number of women and underrepresented groups graduating with degrees in computing — Break Through Tech AI delivers skills-based curriculum, portfolio projects, and career readiness programming delivered through a structured Mentorship program that specializes in AI and Machine Learning for women and other underrepresented communities for students attending universities across the country. The barriers to enter #AI loom large. Let's change that. Fill out this form to get involved - https://lnkd.in/eEgMNqKK #BreakThroughTech #WomenInTech

🚀 Hackathon Highlight! 🚀 Thrilled to share my recent experience participating in a joint hackathon hosted by Metropolitan State University of Denver and University of Denver - Ritchie School of Engineering & Computer Science. The theme of the challenge: "Enhance Campus". Together with my fantastic team, we developed a 📚 Study Scheduler Recommendation Engine 📚. This innovative tool prioritizes individual assignments based on their grade weights and the remaining time to their due dates, ensuring students can manage their study hours most efficiently. Key features of our solution: 1. Dynamic Allocation: Automatically adjust study hours as assignments get completed or when new ones are added. 2. Weighted Prioritization: Focuses on high-grade weight assignments without neglecting those with nearer due dates. 3. User-Friendly Interface: Easy-to-navigate for all students, ensuring a seamless scheduling experience. Grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with bright minds and leverage technology to enhance student productivity!

Back in Linz, to join the Summer School faculty of FOUNDING LAB, a collaborative effort between the Institute of Digital Sciences Austria (IDSA) and Ars Electronica to identify, develop, and present new areas, approaches, and formats that address the challenges of digital transformation, as part of the co-creation of a new university built on interdisciplinarity and inter-university cooperation, with 70+ students from over 50 countries. I'm hosting a workshop titled 'Designing for Responsible AI in a State of Climate Emergency' where participants will engage in a deeper, broader and practical understanding of responsibility as a relational and contextual concept by looking at the impacts (positive and negative) that different types of AI systems are having in society and the environment and ways to assess them through a collective decision-making simulation framed in the ongoing context of the climate emergency. #responsibleai #responsibleinnovation #responsibletech
