Remembering a bustling city, where rickshaw pullers, reliant on traditional hand-pulled carts, symbolize an age-old way of transportation. Man was pulling man and several times,Many times, I asked riskhaw pullers, how difficult is for you, they were smiling and said that the work they are doing is for family to provide food, shelter to kids. After years, one digital visionary introduced #electric rickshaws, embodying the #digital mindset for this humble community. Those open to change harnessed the new mode, effortlessly weaving through traffic with enhanced speed and ease. They became the pioneers of their lanes, adapting to a dynamic landscape. Conversely, those hesitant to embrace the electric shift found themselves lagging behind, struggling in the wake of progress. Today I spent my lunch break testing out an electric, hydrofoil, intelligent boat, built by Navier and it was nothing like I expected it. I spend quite a bit of time in boats going deep sea fishing. This was different. It blows my mind to think this is the future of transportation. 40% of the world population lives within 100 km from the coast, yet we’re all crammed in cars, in traffic. 👉 if you are into fishing like me and don’t want to experience sea sickness, well there is none with Navier. Can only imagine this making a difference for rescue boats where medical procedures need to be done on board. 👉if you don’t want to be stuck in traffic then instead of rushing to the highway only to move at snail speed, Navier makes it possible to use the waterway as a highway, and a really fast one. Fast, yet smooth. Turns out there is a way to avoid traffic, and it’s not in concept stage, it’s reality. 👉self driving cars are going to change how our cities get built and where real estate development happens, but so will boats like Navier and the time to value is ever shorter here. If I ran a real estate investing firm, I’d take into account waterways as highways basically. Once again, Silicon Valley does not disappoint, a company that raised a common sense amount and has already substantial revenue and has a product that also involves hardware, into customer hands. Turns out hardware businesses don’t have to burn through hundreds of millions before they make money. In one sense California Forever seems like science fiction. In another, with the rising numbers of the uber-wealthy, it seems very real and possible. If you were to design it, what would it look like? How would you minimize the effect on those already in Solano County? Better yet, how would you improve living conditions and overall society for those current residents and those nearby? How would you emphasize long and short term social goals? How would you plan for them? How would you design it to account for changes in society a century out that we can’t expect today? One gets the sense that many of these things aren’t on the table for those planning CF. They seem to want to plan it for their own convenience and will discard it like a toy they’ve outgrown once they are done.
