Morning Devotion on the Go: Companion For Life Seeing how we just celebrated a New Year, I thought we could go back to the beginning. The moment in history where the first man, Adam, had unhindered access to God in the Garden of Eden. Adam was staying busy naming all of the wild animals and birds God had created and he came to the realization that "there was no helper just right for him." Our Creator recognized the need to create a woman, Eve, for Adam. Let's discuss who created marriage, "achieving oneness in marriage," honoring the boundaries of marriage and so much more. During this festive season, we celebrate the birth of Christ. God sent Him on earth to sort out the mess. God looked at the world and His people, and realized that He had to intervene. He had to do something. He was deliberate and intentional about it. The mess was not going to sort itself out. One of the major lessons that I have learned over the years is that things do not just happen, people make things happen. I learned that if I do nothing, chances are that nothing will happen. I have learned that behind every major goal and achievement, there was great planning and sacrifice. Someone gave up something. I have learned that in life one needs to give up in order to gain something. Giving up is not always easy. Never misunderstand the message that says, "Never give up". In my leadership journey I keep asking myself what it is that I am prepared to give up in order to go up. It is a challenging question when we realize that we were told "all or none". You have goals, dreams, and ambition. How much do you want them? What is it that you are intentional and deliberate about? What are you willing and prepared to give up? What is it that you are actually going to give up?

Remember be thankful, grateful and thoughtful. Your happiness, measures of success and status depend on some factors you can’t control and occasionally factual data and perception. Our posture should be : Be intentional about not allowing unpleasant situations, hurtful experiences and behaviors/ consequences / Personalties that precipitated in or resulted in such unpleasantries. Instead focus on the POSITIVE- lessons learned, actional steps and efforts taken to help move forward! Try NOT to repeat THOSE conscious & unconscious behaviors and poor decision making that lead to failed outcomes & hurtful experiences. The word of The LORD leaves with this simple but powerful directive. *”Forgetting those things which ARE behind we press forward to those things which are ahead of us”. Philippians 3:14-14. KJV
