Who made it all possible for you?     No matter what you pursue in life, you can’t do it alone. Excellence requires help.     Success rides on the shoulders of the parents who drive their kids to practice after work, the friends who show up to your open mic, and the mentors who encourage you to take on bigger projects and more responsibility.     They are the ones who deserve all the credit because without them — success wouldn’t be possible or feel so sweet.     That “all hands-on deck” mentality is such an important part of our culture at Visa. We are constantly pushing each other to get a little better every single day, and finding new ways that leadership can connect with junior team members. We are always doing internal panel discussions, sponsorship programs, and ERG meet ups to help uplift our people.     Because at the end of the day, an environment where everyone feels safe, seen, and supported facilitates inspiration and innovation.     Who played a pivotal role in helping you get to where you are now? Be sure to thank them in the comments!

Soooo many people…family, teachers, and more. But one teacher in particular, my art teacher Mr. Heusser, is who really pushed me. He found needed scholarships for summer and weekend art classes in HS to build a portfolio for college applications. Without his knowledge and push, my dad who was a truck driver and mom who worked random jobs wouldn’t have had the knowledge to help steer me. They wanted me to be happy and would support wherever I wanted to go (even if other teachers including a guidance counselor said I’d amount to nothing if I’d pursued the creative field). I’ve always been grateful for Mr. Heusser and keep tabs on him in retirement back home now. As the first college grad in my family and enjoying a successful career both agency and in-house (including Visa) I owe it all to Mr. Heusser. 🖼️❤️✨

Her name was Kay Hood- she was an educator and the most graceful, humble and amazing person to me and likely so many others. She taught without needing to teach, listened even if it was loud and was as graceful as the light she gave this world. You would have loved her! She could talk con law for days even before I really understood the concept and just knew I’d sit on the bench someday. She heard me cry on every hard day especially during the fire academy but never let me know she was having a hard day- which is probably why I lost her so unexpectedly. I am so so very thankful for that pivotal moment where she came into my life and all those that ensued because her belief in me continues to give me every stepping stone of an incredible journey I had only dreamed of as a just a small girl with seemingly not much hope to start.

Absolutely, Frank Cooper III. Creative Director Don Sedei took a flier on a young writer out of SMU with a fairly, um, raw portfolio. He saw something in me. Then it's what you do with that opportunity.

Frank - such a great call out to parents that gave and sacrificed so much. And, for me, also my colleagues and friends during many many years at PepsiCo. Great talent along with my bestie, coach and mentor, Dan Bena. And can’t forget all the other amazing leaders like yourself Frank; was such a great time!

Real Talk Frank Cooper III ! To survive and now thrive through all these years has been because of our community, industry, and corporate partners & stakeholders! On a personal note beyond being raised by my grandparents and then a single mother, God Bless Her, it also was those coaches and mentors who encouraged me and showed me to believe in myself and my God given abilities and utilize teamwork to accomplish our goals and objectives. Thank you for the #Reflection my friend.
