Atlantic Union Bank is accepting applications between January 2, 2024 - February 1, 2024 (11:59 p.m.) for the second annual Future Community Impact Makers grant to support paid summer internships for students with low to moderate incomes.
Summer internships provide exposure to different career possibilities, opportunities for foundational skill development, and the ability to start a professional network. Paid internships make these opportunities accessible to a wider pool of individuals.
Applicant organizations must be community-based (nonprofits, government entities, community foundations, etc.) organizations that provide affordable housing, community services (i.e. food security and health services access), economic development, or financial education to low-to-moderate income community members. Grantees must commit to hosting under-graduate/certificate program and graduate level students in an 8-week, paid internship program.
Each awardee will receive $4,000 in grant funds. Students must be hired as direct employees and organizations are responsible for employment taxes.
All positions are expected to begin no later than June 14, 2024, and end no later than August 16, 2024. Awardees to be notified by February 15, 2024.
