be like susan and stay lit this hurricane season. arcnotark.com please notice how there is NOTHING attached to her home for her installation. that’s how it’s supposed to be done. we prefer underground insulations in most scenarios, the only time we will offer a surface mount is if that’s the only option. this is just one of the many things that sets our installs apart from others- the main thing is that copper thing we try so hard to educate our customers and potential customers on. . also note, that window doesn’t open. a generator needs to be fee away from a generator that opens at all times. . . arc electric + lighting has generators in stock, we can get you installed sooner than anyone. A-N-Y-O-N-E. . our installs are top tier, with copper wiring and underground installation. . standby generators turn on within 60 seconds of a outage keeping you comfy. . they are connected to natural gas or propane. . they have a standard 5 yr warranty. . most sizes and brands in stock. arcnotark.com | 281-909-4299 . #arc #arcelectricandlighting #dontomate #dontomatemarket #staylit #tomballsmallbusiness #cypresssmallbusiness #generac #generacgenerators #yourfavoriteelectricians #fyp #thewoodlandstx #magnoliatx #conroetx #hockleytx #sisepuede

Wow! If anyone can make some sense of this I am all ears. Remember, based upon Centerpoint's OWN data 2 Million of their 2.3 Million customers lost power during Hurricane Beryl............AND.....It took 3 days to restore power to 50% of their customer base and more than 10 days to restore power to their entire customer base.........but they didn't use back-up generators they had leased for $800MM. This raises a ton of questions, most notably, are ratepayers funding the leases for these generators? According to the Texas Tribune "Beryl’s damage to CenterPoint's electricity infrastructure is estimated between $1.2 billion and $1.3 billion. Those costs could be passed on to customers, who could see a 2% increase on their bills over the next 15 years." Texans will hate me for saying it, but it sure smells like California. Extreme weather events (wildfires in California) completely overwhelming the capabilities of IOU's to provide any semblance of defense, followed by tortured proceedings in front of the the State Public Utilities Commission where the IOU's have their hand out looking for more ratepayer dollars. One more time-Is this business model working? #hurricaneberyl #centerpoint #resiliency #climatechange #extremeweather #dieselgenerators

Lessons so far from the experience with Hurricane Beryl: 1. If you live in an area exposed to extreme weather, bad stuff is going to happen from time to time. 2. We should have a lot more resilience that we do. The last 2-3 years in Texas have include several "rare events". It's clear we need to re-think our electricity system. 3. Supply chains are over optimized. We start to run low on critical items in 2-3 days. Inventory is not a bad thing unless you only see it as a balance sheet entry. 4. Electricity is an incredibly important technology. Without it, society changes in a fundamental way. #Manufacturing #MFHouston #power

A common point of concern for people when considering solar is how it is installed on their roof. This is a great question and should be asked especially after the devastation we saw with Hurricane Ian (155mph sustained winds). When it comes to mounting hardware we only use the highest quality products, which we believe is IronRidge. Their products are designed to be durable with leak prevention in mind! On all of our projects, they have been rated for 170mph winds, and we are happy to say that none of our systems were removed during Hurricane Ian. If you are interested in learning more about this topic give us a call today! ☀️ #hurricanepreparedness #solar

Chief Economist, Wilmington Trust, N.A., a subsidiary of M&T Bank (NYSE: MTB) | Formerly Philadelphia Federal Reserve
Today's release of construction data shows #interestrates continue to weigh on the #housing sector. Specifically, #housingstarts dropped sharply in July. The biggest drop came in the Census-defined South region, which includes Texas and was likely impacted by Hurricane Beryl. That said, there is a clear downward trend of late. We expect the #Fed to be cutting #rates starting in September which should give some relief.

Knowing the hurricane category helps engineers evaluate roof damage and wind uplift. By applying the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale, engineers estimate the intensity of wind forces on buildings and inspect key damage patterns. They examine: 🕵♂️ -Roof Coverings: Looking for missing, lifted, or damaged shingles or tiles. -Structural Components: Checking rafters, trusses, and sheathing for signs of stress or failure. -Water Infiltration: Identifying leaks or water damage inside the building that indicates compromised roofing and potential underlying issues. This approach ensures accurate damage assessments and effective repair recommendations, helping to reinforce structures against future storms. Stay safe and informed this hurricane season!
