Can #AI Startups Outrun Dot-Com Bubble Comparisons? 🤔 One of the well-compiled articles I read recently. It clears a lot of fog and shares the #truthful facts about the hustle of the AI-first model and #hype vs value-driven adoption of #GenAI. Here are a few eye-opening #facts: 1️⃣ In an AI-first race, only a few will survive and break through the #AI hype. 2️⃣ AI Startups have tons of Cash but Not enough unique #Data. 3️⃣ Investors have poured record levels of funding into #GenerativeAI companies, almost $22 billion. 4️⃣ My favorite fact; Most of the companies look like vertical SAAS, but they're just pretty interfaces on top of LLMs. Taking input and giving it to an #LLM model like GPT-4 doesn't offer much differentiation. 🙂 5️⃣ The #product is what matters. We may be seeing a different kind of bubble with AI. The established public companies like Nvidia, Microsoft, Google, Meta and others either have a strong business model (like Nvidia is delivering on the core AI infrastructure) or can spend on AI while their other businesses keep generating the cash (like the others mentioned). So, these established companies will be fine. But in the startup space we may be seeing a bubble or at the very least many "misses". This article drives home the point.
