This is quite possibly one of the most important 56 page document I’ve read. It outlines a roadmap to beginning the discussions about how we fix our food systems. From the guy behind sone great books including There’s No Planet B It’s very well layered with this post overviewing the topics that lead to the Exec summary and then the 56 page report The report lays out some base scientific findings around which the debate and plans can be developed to create the wins needed. A massive topic that has one BIG hurdle to be overcome…humans. Mike Berners-Lee and his team have suggested the following ground rules. Are enough of us up for it??  Principle 1: Honour the best evidence.  Principle 2: Respect all interests  Principle 3: Transparency of motive and funding.  Principle 4: Foster open-mindedness.  Principle 5: Uphold a culture of honest, evidence-based and respectful debate. #foodwaste also needs to be part of the discussion.

I recently attended the Cool Farm Alliance annual member event, an enlightening gathering that brought together experts from the sustainable agriculture community. I got to represent Vayda over two productive days. We tackled intense topics ranging from scaling from pilots and incentives to addressing farmers' challenges and exploring Climate Justice for underserved communities. The central theme was unmistakable: achieving a paradigm shift toward Regenerative Agriculture as the standard requires a unified effort across the entire supply chain, leaving no stakeholder behind. True value emerges when we set aside personal interests, embrace collaboration, and share knowledge to enhance our collective impact. Despite the competitive nature of the food and agriculture industry, starting from the ground up—listening to farmers and extending up to corporations and consumers—reveals our common objectives and paves the way for viable solutions. I appreciate everyone’s openness on their own challenges, the support offered, and the solutions proposed. Let’s maintain this momentum to achieve tangible impacts. Soon, Regenerative Agriculture will simply become Agriculture!
