CenterPoint Energy has selected Frontier Energy to implement the Income-Qualified Rental Efficiency Program for CenterPoint customers. The program will focus on affordable housing properties to bring energy efficiency upgrades and weatherization to one-to four-unit rental properties for tenants that qualify. CenterPoint Energy will pay at least 50% of the cost for qualifying installed weatherization and high-efficiency equipment upgrades. These upgrades may include furnace, boiler, and water heater upgrades, tune-ups, air sealing, attic and wall insulation. Learn more at: https://lnkd.in/gaNBQzgX

From the latest LEDs Magazine contributed article by Craig DiLouie: "With a custom rebate, the owner’s project team proposes a project to the utility and, if approved, receives an incentive based on energy savings. This option poses certain benefits [...] From the rebate program operator’s perspective, the approach is desirable because energy savings are generally more accurate — especially when measurement and verification are required by agreement."
