🥇This week we saw another example of how sports and competition parallels operational resilience. 🎯Being personally resilient closely aligns with being operationally resilient. 🏆Here is a guy who was not considered to be the hero, the top performer, the poster person. Stephen Nedoroscik was criticized for not being many things. He turned criticism into motivation. He became a single event specialist who could support the team. He fell during competition in earlier Olympic trials and won the gold medal in the world championships. He earned a spot on the US squad in 2022 and did not execute as planned. He stopped focusing on winning and focused on a single skill, the “Nedoroscik Pommel.” Stephen’s 40 second performance this week lifted the USA men’s gymnastic team to its first Olympic team medal in gymnastics in 16 years. https://lnkd.in/giAtkqwN 🗝Does this not sound like a great example of the team realizing and supporting an individual they know will be a key contributor to the organization’s success, to their operational resilience? You've worked months, years, or even your entire life to achieve something and … you don’t succeed. Could you pick yourself back up? The wonderful Chelsie Giles, 2020 Olympic Judo Bronze Medalist, was one of the first people we signed on for Ten Min Win. When we spoke, Chelsie was training for the Paris Olympics. Unfortunately, her 2024 journey came to a disappointing end this weekend in Paris. That's when I realised one key thing. We so often discuss our successes- especially here on LinkedIn.
