Happy International Transgender Day of Visibility or TDOV! Evident in 2024 is intensifying backlash toward trans people, be it through legislative measures which, according to the American Civil Liberties Union, includes 479 anti-LGBTQ bills introduced across state legislatures this year alone, to direct physical violence, declared an epidemic by the American Medical Association since 2019, which disproportionately affects Black trans women with a majority being young people of color. That’s why it’s necessary for trans people to be seen through authentic, diverse, and accurate stories which reflect the actual lived experiences of trans people; both for themselves and for the people who believe they’ve never met a trans person.(Source: glaad). GA-SWOG stands in allyship with our trans community members and supports the continued work of inclusion and equality. #transvisibility #inclusionmatters #transgenderdayofvisibility #transrightsarehumanrights #equality

The International Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) is an annual observance on March 31st dedicated to celebrating transgender and gender-diverse individuals. Its purpose is to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the transgender community and advocate for their rights. The day aims to acknowledge the accomplishments and contributions of transgender individuals while emphasizing visibility to counteract the discrimination and prejudice often encountered by them. GSCSW stands in unity to honor and celebrate trans lives on this International Day of Trans Visibility! Together, we strive to increase awareness, amplify voices, and advocate for greater inclusion. Let's champion visibility and embrace the richness of diversity. 🏳️⚧️✨ #TransVisibility #InclusionMatters #TransRightsAreHumanRights
