Join us in making history as we aim to host the greenest football tournament ever. With UEFA and Deutsche Bahn leading the sustainability charge, we're on the right track, but we need YOUR support!
By swapping planes for trains, national football teams could reduce their travel emissions by up to 60%! So far, Germany and Switzerland are setting the pace by committing to ground travel. It's a game-changer, and we're here for it!
As fans and players gear up for a month of thrilling matches across Germany, let's also champion the environment. Every choice matters. From the stadium to your travel plans, opt for greener routes and join the movement.
We urge all national teams to follow suit and commit to sustainable travel. Let's make Euro 2024 a milestone in environmental responsibility and show the world the power of football as a force for good.
Together, we can make a difference, one train ride at a time. Are you with us? Let's turn this tournament into a victory for our planet.

An interesting article from Sky Sports today.
With UEFA aiming for EURO 2024 to be the most environmentally friendly tournament ever, there is a controversial element regarding travel for both supporters and fans.
This poses an interesting question of whether UEFA's plans will cause an operational "headache" for the competing national teams or whether EURO 2024 will create a legacy regarding sports tournaments and sustainability.

Will national teams become champions for sustainable travel during Euro 2024?
NGOs across Europe have asked their national football teams to commit to traveling sustainably for the European Championships 2024, avoiding flying and choosing means of transport like rail to and/or within Germany.
For example, if the French team took the (direct) train instead of the plane to travel from Paris to Dortmund, they would reduce their CO2 equivalent emissions by 98%.
For the Paris Olympics, the national teams of the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany have already committed to travelling to Paris by train in order to reduce their emissions.
Climate Action is a Team Sport!
No matter which county or country you come from, this is one key area where we must work together and collaborate as best we can with a common goal. And this is increasingly happening across the game. There is still so much to do - this is a huge challenge and still an existential threat for us. However it is important to shine a light on, and celebrate, the efforts made so far by many across both recreational game and the professional game. Just a few of the key players are mentioned in this article by Global Sustainable Sport. (Thanks for the mentions!)

We are thrilled to announce Bosquia, a company specializing in reforestation, as a supporting partner of #WFSEurope. Together, we are planting a forest in Sevilla to mitigate the environmental impact of our event.
