Dear Friends and Colleagues, To date very few Journals are available to accept video articles for submission/publication in our field, despite this type of articles are of paramount importance in Pediatric and Thoracic Surgery in order to share new techniques and approaches. For this reason, I decided to open a Collection titled “Congenital Lung Malformations: Minimally Invasive Approach from Diagnosis and Treatment to Research” on the Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE): https://lnkd.in/gmjXXFUs The purpose of the Collection is to offer a comprehensive overview of all aspects of minimally invasive approach to congenital lung malformations in children and adults. The most recent Impact Factor for JoVE (ISSN 1940-087X) is 1.424, and the Journal is currently indexed in the major databases, including PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus and Web of Science. After submission, each manuscript will be editorially and peer reviewed, which is typically a 1-2 month process. Once a text article passes review, a script will be generated. Generally, a filming date will be scheduled within 4-8 weeks after acceptance. A videographer will be sent to the authors’ site to film the procedure. [JoVE] Method Collections "Recent Research Methods to Study Ocular Ischemia and Vision Loss" https://lnkd.in/gpUw3KEX Collection Overview Ocular ischemia occurs when the ocular blood supply is insufficient, which induces metabolic dysregulation due to the lack of oxygen. These alterations can cause irreversible cell death in the eye, eventually resulting in vision impairment. Ocular ischemia is seen in many ocular diseases and disorders, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy (DR), glaucoma, cataract, corneal blindness, or occlusion(s) of ocular vasculatures, mediated by systemic metabolic disorders. To understand a series of ocular injury events evoked by ocular ischemia and ultimately develop effective treatments for the diseases, in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro study methods for ocular ischemia and vision loss are needed. The objectives of this methods collection are (1) to highlight the importance of researching various ocular ischemic diseases such as AMD, DR, glaucoma, cataracts, corneal blindness, or occlusion(s) of ocular vessels mediated by systemic metabolic disorders; (2) to share the step-by-step and in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro methods that are being used; and (3) to encourage new cross-disciplinary idea formulation. We welcome a wide range of manuscripts on current and new in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro methods of assessing, developing, attenuating, or preventing ocular ischemic injury with vision loss to be useful for interested scientists in this clinically relevant area of research.
