Football transfer season is still underway, and as big clubs do, we keep adding top-notch talent to our team. We are really excited to introduce Amanda Goldsmith, our new Associate Product Manager. Amanda brings a passion for gaming and an eye on creating the best possible experience for our players. Her technical ability will be vital in piecing together our vision for Matchday Champions, as we create something authentically football, pillared on the love for the game and community that makes it happen. Amanda’s passion for gaming and as a climate advocate is contagious. One of her side projects in her studies allowed for the perfect intersection to combine both worlds. Amanda collaborated with "EarthGamesStudio along with Be The Green" to help work on “Life Reimagined;” a game focused on offering a fun way to learn about ways to create a regenerative economy for people and the earth. She also leveraged her graduate studies at the University of Washington to tailor her projects to her interests in gaming and inclusivity. She worked on a complete UX project from research to shipment of a solution for the issue of toxic online gaming environments for women at UW, and since then she continue to support women in gaming by attending women in games events in her area. What talents or skills do you have that might surprise your colleagues? - A talent or skill I have is my love for working out; I have run three half marathons in the past year and am now a coach in training for solidcore! - I love creating community in fitness and becoming the most empowered version of myself and helping others do so too What are you most excited about experiencing at Matchday? - At Matchday, I am most excited about experiencing a multicultural team with extensive experience in the gaming industry. I believe I will have the opportunity to learn from and work alongside some amazing people. What aspect of Matchday has resonated most with you so far? - So far, the collaboration and open communication across teams have resonated with me the most here at Matchday. So I've been at Allstar for almost three months.. but even some of my friends have inquired, "𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝑨𝒍𝒍𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒅𝒐?" I realized that in my excitement around our announcement of our $12M Series A and hiring initiatives, you might be otherwise unfamiliar with the product. So... what do we do? We create 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭. For anyone. Residing anywhere. With any access level to a PC. If they play, we make content from it - no streaming or screen recording (ew!) required. I still like to consider myself an above-average gamer, but I don't want to set up my stream, record my content, edit it, and then post it to social. It's just too much for me at this part of my life - despite still having skills I wouldn't mind showing off. With Allstar, I'm able to play my favorite games and have super high-quality highlights (I'm talking better looking than what my system can even run) of my games, montages, meme videos - delivered to me out of thin air. Even better, we create clips optimized for sharing - that means 9:16, without those ugly black bars on #TikTok or #YouTubeShorts. Does this mean I'll be your favorite #content #creator any time soon? Honestly, no - I'm much more locked in on building partnerships and Lego sets these days than gaming - but that doesn't mean we aren't building the tools for millions of players to take their first steps into creating content daily.
