Why does buying a car in Germany have to be SO difficult!? Is there any other modern economy that makes customer service as much of a challenge as possible?! We are in a fortunate position to be needing to change both our daily drivers at once, and we want to buy or lease two BMW's (5 Series touring and X3). We have asked for a double sale with a few dealers who have cars we like in stock and listed as available. This is where we hit a wall. One dealer didn't want to accept our car as a part exchange "because it isn't a BMW", then agreed he would consider it, but asked me to write down all the options the car had (you can use the VIN to get all that for free) The dealer went on to say "you must drive to us (3 hours away) to discuss, you can't test drive anything until you agree to buy it, and no, we don't negotiate prices". Another 3 dealers did not bother to reply at all... Honestly, I am tempted to buy an old sh*tbox 30 year old 5 Series and drive it until the wheels fall off and tell my partner to run her old car until it totally dies... 🤣
