A question you could ask re-VAR and referee's..... why does it feel like the referee's defer to VAR and these weird FIFA rules on handball,penalties etc.. In rugby a referee asks for the off field referee to look where he/she may not have seen a grounding of the ball etc... in football the criticism is that the referee defers to VAR rather than taking control of the match and asking VAR for whatever help and assistance he/she might need. It almost makes the referee impotent in the decision making process. Just a thought as you're discussing these things
