Executive Chairman at Southwest Airlines

Throughout our 50th Anniversary year, we’ve reflected on the People, stories, and moments that defined Southwest in our first half-century. Now, as the year comes to a close, we’re excited to launch “50 Years. One Heart. A History of Southwest in 50 Objects,” a commemorative coffee table book highlighting 50 unique objects that tell the story of our colorful history. This book celebrates our unique past and Culture, and serves as an inspiration as we close one chapter of our Company history and turn the page to the next one, filled with hope and resilience. I have very fond memories of SW as a Texas Tech intern in the Specialty Marketing Department the summer before my senior year in college. I loved the company culture, employees and the atmosphere at headquarters. Congratulations on a tremendous 50 years! Southwest is a true leader in aviation and customer service!

Love flying Southwest. Flew to Kansas city / Dallas, almost every weekend back in 2019 and 2020. Best airline, best perks ! Companion pass rocks !

Excellent, Gary Kelly. Thank you for sharing and keep it up. Was the 50th year, 2020/2021, the most difficult in their history? What unique objects have Southwest introduced to protect people from transporting CV19 variants inside the cabin, to their child, their family and airports? Good luck in the next 50 years.

Love this, Thank you for what was drawn on a cocktail napkin 50 years ago! One of the highest returns from a Business Plan conceived with Wild Turkey. Florence and I moved to Dallas from Los Angeles and arrived on one of the last planes to land non-stop from LAX to Dallas Love Field the evening they opened up DFW at Midnight. Southwest refused to move to DFW and the rest is history. Thanks for the Leadership Gary.

And so glad you were able to launch it right where everything started, in San Antonio!
