The number 1 thing holding many ambitious people back in their careers… is lack of patience. What I wish more people understood is that patience doesn’t compromise ambition - in fact, it actually enhances the likelihood that you’ll get to where you need to go. Your ambition should push you to play the game and strive for more without losing sleep or sacrificing your well-being. This is especially important for those of us with real entrepreneurial DNA. It makes me sad to see so many people who fail to balance their ambition with patience. If more of you truly understood that you really do have time, you’d realize that being patient and going at your own pace doesn’t make you any less “hungry.” It makes you smart. And ironically, it speeds up the process of you building meaningful.

As entrepreneurs, we are internally driven -- to get the job done. Patience often seems like the enemy. To me it is about smart patience - knowing when to be relentless and knowing when to take in the big picture and slow down. The wisdom from reflection and the energy from self-care is often the rocket fuel that propels us to a new heights. There is magic in the journey, as much as the destination.

Totally agree! Great achievements are built on steady, deliberate progress. 💡

I've been practicing slowing down in all areas of my life. What I've been noticing is a clear relationship between all that rushing and the degree that I'm coming from my ego (fear & insecurity) vs. my True Self (Peace & Clarity). When I choose to slow down, I can relax (after a moment or two of resistance from my ego😵💫). Relaxing creates the space for me to shift from the constant low-level fight or flight of my ego to the possibility and creativity of my True Self. From there, I can ask myself, "What's the next obvious action to move my project forward?" Then I take that action. And repeat the process again. What I'm finding is that, I still get what I want AND I can get there without the stress and constant seeking that ego adds to everything.

Don't get this sorry. The slower you go the more time it takes to get anywhere. In the end going so slow could mean never achieving anything. The most adventurous people use their talent quickly and effectively to create success. My college professor always said get as many qualifications in as short a time as possible. Then make sure you a have a vocational qualification - teacher / nurse / etc - to fall back on. Use the talent you have to create the life you want in as short a time as possible. Procrastination is the enemy of success.

If a goal put into action meets persistence, success is very likely.
