🌍 The Party of European Socialists manifesto promises that “We will continue to invest in renewable energy and energy efficiency, to be climate neutral by 2050 at the latest, by achieving strong EU 2040 climate targets.” Party of European Socialists (PES): we completely agree! One of our key manifesto asks is that decarbonisation of EU rural industries be supported by European policies. Our sector is committed to carbon neutrality by 2050. But to achieve this we need policy and financial support for the energetic use of biomass residues, energy efficiency improvements and process electrification. 🗪 Let's have a conversation: https://bit.ly/48EtcnB #EUElections2024#RenewableEnergy #Decarbonisation #CarbonNeutrality

📈 Bullish outlook for Carbon Pricing on the horizon 📈 BloombergNEF forecasts EU carbon price to triple by 2035 to almost €200 per ton of CO2. 2026 is expected to be a significant tipping point since a variety of stricter policy amendments and legislative reviews unfold by then. Carbon pricing is an important driver for the ongoing energy transition and will continue to play a key role in industrial strategies within the EU region. Pushing renewable energy, CCSU, sustainable transportation etc. to the foreground. What it is your opinion? Are you positive about this kind of financial incentives? Or do you think our industry will not be able to recover from higher carbon pricing? #EnergyTransition #CO2 #CCSU #CarbonPrice

🌍 Carbon offset programs allow oil and gas companies to compensate for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by investing in environmental projects like reforestation 🌳 and renewable energy ⚡. These programs help mitigate the sector’s significant GHG impact amid growing climate pressures. 🌱 However, their effectiveness varies—while high-quality offsets can provide environmental benefits, issues like additionality and permanence raise concerns. ❓ Offsets offer economic advantages 💰 and can enhance a company’s reputation 🌟 if combined with direct emission reductions. Challenges include ensuring verification standards ✅, avoiding overreliance on offsets ⚖️, and navigating market volatility 📉. To be effective, offsets should complement emission reductions, prioritize high-quality projects, and involve transparent reporting. 📝 #carbonoffsets #oilndgas #sustainability #renewableenergy #climateaction #environmentalimpact #greenenergy #climatechange #sustainabilityupdate #rhetort

The European Commission has approved, under #EUStateaid rules, a €998 million Dutch scheme to support the production of #renewablehydrogen. 🎯The measure aims to contribute to the development of renewable #hydrogen in line with the objectives of the #EUHydrogenStrategy and the #EUGreenDeal. The scheme will also contribute to the objectives of the #REPowerEU Plan to reduce dependence on Russian fossil fuels and accelerate the #greentransition. 💦The scheme will support the construction of at least 200 MW of #electrolysis capacity. 🍃The Netherlands expects that the scheme will lead to the equivalent of around 55 kilotons of #CO2 being avoided every year until 2030, which will contribute to the Netherlands' and EU's #climate targets. So true Tony Knight , vanadium maintains its chemical and physical properties through use, and modern metallurgical allows repeated and efficient recycling. 'Miners in Australia are tapping into mine waste to extract copper, nickel, cobalt and other minerals necessary for the energy transition can be extracted from mining waste'. To advance the critical minerals sector the Collaborative development program (CDP) Department of Resources (Queensland) Mining Queensland is at forefront of utilising mine waste and by products. This grant offers the opportunity to create new value streams of critical minerals in mine waste and a sustainable system to reduce waste transforming it into new products while supporting long-term sustainability of the mining operations.
