We wanted to take a minute to address a concept that is at the heart of our business. It is a phrase our founder, Sandi Flores, used to describe what we do, and HOW we do it. She started using this phrase when she first started the company over 30 years ago… NURTURE, LOVE, SUPPORT. Three simple words that so perfectly capture what we are here to do for our clients. 1. Nurture them as they continue their development and learn to apply our clinical systems. This means that we are patient and understanding. We take our time with them and realize that they will fail from time to time, and we are here to help them back up. 2. Love them. We have all worked as nurses/directors in communities. We know how incredibly demanding the job is. Most senior living nurses are working 6+ days per week and are on call to their caregivers, med techs, and families 24/7. The impact on their quality of life and their mental state is profound. When we come in to help them we strive to be like a guardian angel swooping in to save the day. 3. Support them by providing tools, answers, and solutions to their challenges. This is a great opportunity and an awesome responsibility for us. How lucky we are to have opportunities to go in and help communities find the solutions to provide better care, stay in compliance, and hopefully make their lives a little easier.

🇫🇮🚑 Senior Lecturer @ArcadaUAS. PhD Researcher @HelsinkiUniMed | Emergency Care; Teams and Systems; Simulation. #EuSim #SESAM #FinnEMAkatemia #KidsSaveLives
Today we reflected on teamwork and #psychologicalsafety in emergency room teams 🏥 together with Arcada University of Applied Sciences final-year Nursing students. What makes a team? How do we work together? What makes it safe, or maybe unsafe? How do we build psychological safety and inclusiveness in our teams? Important aspects to discuss with nursing students nearing graduation, and the reactions and reflections of the group showed a clear need for that. PS: No Legos involved this time, but there were still team puzzles. 🧩😄

With so many types of care services available, understanding which area you would like to consider as a career can be overwhelming. This isn't helped by the fact that terms such as ‘nursing home’ or ‘care home’ are often used interchangeably, even though they can mean different things. Our guide will help you to translate the terminology, and understand different care services available within our homes.

Thought Leadership |Healthcare Consultant |Speaker |Founder of Omega Nursing| Helping healthcare organizations and educational institutions develop and improve their learning programs| Doctor of Nursing Practice| CRNA
Diversity equity and inclusion have become catch phrases to peak the ears and gain some traction in nursing education, healthcare organizations and corporations. Society will drown in pleasantries, not addressing the real concern of healthcare disparities. (researched evidence points to this: diverse nurses positively impact marginalized communities because people tend to trust nurses who look like them). Some would rather hear soft lies over hard truth. uncomfortable truth. truth. Complex problems require a multi tiered approach with both short-term and long-term goals. That means all of us are working together, in smaller segments, of a greater picture to create change. Everyone doing a little bit creates long lasting impactful change, and it is often better than one person trying to do everything. It is the difference between being consistently good versus being occasionally great. Nursing education anyone and everyone who interacts with a nursing student aligns with DEI goals of the institution. When was the last time you asked a student in a genuine fashion, “How are you doing?” This doesn’t need to be left to the counselors, support staff or specific student advisors. This level of involvement should come from all of us.
