This week, I had the incredible honor of moderating a panel on "Institutional Allocations to Venture Capital" at the inaugural Brazil LP Summit for Portfolio Summits. With over 150 allocators from around the world in attendance, we explored how venture capital can drive access to groundbreaking technologies and address critical issues such as climate change and diversity. Off to Copenhagen this week! Can’t wait dive into discussions on the state of, and collaboration for Nordic emerging venture capital. One topic I'm eager to discuss is the value of Investor Relations  - as well as setting the right IR strategy. It's not just about names on an Excel sheet; it's about people who understand the (new) niche market of Venture Capital and how to market that to the right LPs. I’m also looking forward to discuss the downturn in exits, both industry exits and IPOs across Europe. How can we structure the Emerging Venture Capital landscape to achieve desired IRR? My bet is on smaller, niche, and expert & specialist GP teams - obviously with a great IR strategy. Personal introductions to Partners at US #venturecapital firms are critical part of a successful venture #fundraising process. For #UK and #EU #Founders who don't have a large personal network in the US this important step can be quite challenging. Certain professional services firms such as lawyers, accountants, and banks can play a critical role in helping introduce Founders to their target VC Partners. If you plan to raise venture capital in the US you should be talking to Daniel Glazer with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
