Imagine creating a custom cereal mix with the Kelce brothers or transforming fan-generated ideas into fun products like Loki Charms. Lisa Balzo is the creative mind behind these exciting partnerships at General Mills. Lisa leads a passionate team responsible for entertainment, music, fashion and celebrity partnerships across our brands in the United States, Europe and Australia. When asked about her favorite part of the role, Lisa shared: “I love finding authentic connections between our brands and culture, and discovering breakthrough ways to highlight those connections through partnerships and licensing. I have an amazing team full of incredibly creative people and we have a blast brainstorming and bringing bold ideas to life.” She says their approach to identifying partnerships involves staying connected with our brands and keeping a pulse on cultural trends. One partnership Lisa is particularly proud of is the recent collaboration with Travis and Jason Kelce. “What made this partnership special was that Travis and Jason are true super fans who have publicly shared their love for our cereals. Their enthusiasm for our brands made for such a fun and authentic partnership. They were as excited about the launch as we were!”

We’re thrilled to share that our Blue Buffalo brand is now the Official Pet Food and Treats Partner of Best Friends Animal Society (BFAS), a trusted leader in pet adoption and animal welfare. 🐾 This partnership deepens Blue Buffalo’s long-standing relationship with BFAS, building on their role as a founding partner of the Northwest Arkansas Best Friends Pet Resource Center in 2021 and years of employee volunteerism across various BFAS locations. As part of their commitment, Blue Buffalo will donate over 500,000 pounds of BLUE food and treats annually to nourish the dogs and cats at BFAS's six lifesaving centers nationwide. For BLUE, this donation is about more than just feeding pets — it's about ensuring they receive the love and care they deserve as they await their forever homes. What's better than a delicious trail mix bar? One that not only satisfies your taste buds but also contributes to a healthier planet. Enter Erin Schutt, associate manger supporting the global nuts category at General Mills. Erin has played a key role in advancing our ingredient sourcing efforts and fostering strong supplier relationships. Her latest achievement is securing regenerative almonds for the new LÄRABAR Trail Mix Bars, where more than half the almonds in every bar are grown using regenerative farming practices. “Our journey involved visiting almond orchards in California to ensure they aligned with our sustainability goals and then securing enough almonds to meet our volume requirements. This is General Mills’ debut with regenerative almonds. We're making a positive impact on the environment while responding to consumer demands." Navigating this new territory wasn’t without challenges. “This is a new practice among growers and there’s still much to learn and refine.
