During my first trip to India as CEO of Medtronic, I was thrilled to inaugurate the newly expanded state-of-the-art Medtronic Engineering and Innovation Center (MEIC) in Hyderabad. Along with local leaders and distinguished guests, we partook in a lamp lighting ceremony: a beautiful tradition symbolizing progress and new beginnings. India has played a critical role in helping us deliver on our Mission for 40 years. This event marks a significant milestone along our journey, enabling us to tap into the rich STEM talent pool and thriving innovation ecosystem in the region. MEIC will create immersive experiences to accelerate collaborative innovation and training and education, while also continuing to lead the way in software engineering solutions, product security, data engineering, systems engineering, and more. Here's to the bright future ahead and the transformative impact we'll continue to make together! #MedtronicIndia #Innovation

Wow Geoff, pretty cool! It's a long ways from our time at CPL in Portland...
Your post celebrating the inauguration of the Medtronic Engineering and Innovation Center (MEIC) in Hyderabad resonates deeply with me. It's inspiring to see how MEIC has evolved into a hub of innovation and collaboration, contributing significantly to Medtronic's mission and impact. Reflecting on your visit to Hyderabad, I'm reminded of the Medallion ceremony at MEIC, orchestrated by Omar Ishrak. I had the privilege of being part of the founding team when MEIC was in its infancy as CIEC (Covidien India Engineering Center) back in 2011. Witnessing its growth from zero to over 200 engineers within the first five years remains a highlight of my career journey. The lamp lighting ceremony you mentioned holds profound significance, symbolizing progress and new beginnings, marking a significant milestone in Medtronic's journey in India. Kudos to Divya Joshi and the current MEIC team for their outstanding contributions in elevating the center to new heights. Here's to the bright future ahead and the continued success of MEIC in driving innovation and making a difference in healthcare. Many congratulations & thanks for sharing Divya. Great to see that the centre has made great strides since its inception. Brings back nostalgic memories of being part of the team that inaugurated the centre in Feb 2012. I share a picture from that day
